My Passion
I am passionate about working with individuals and families who have experienced trauma. I believe each person has a unique story to tell and regardless of how difficult things are; they can have hope for a better present and future.
I am a Christian therapist who loves Jesus and serves Him. I have training in integrating the Christian worldview with therapeutic skills and concepts. However, I only bring this into therapy if my clients request it.
It is my firm belief that the counseling session is about my individual client. I meet them where they are, build on those strengths, and make a plan together to get them to where they want to be.
Experience...
My personal experience with trauma has allowed me to have compassion and understanding for deep hurt. However, I also know that everyone has a unique story. That is why I use an individualized approach with my clients.
My professional experience has been working with individuals of all ages as well as facilitating classes.
Education and Training
I obtained a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Trauma Counseling from Regent University. My studies provided me an opportunity to learn how to integrate faith with best practices in the counseling field. I attended over 100 hours of trauma training through various agencies and the VAT online program. I am a certified EMDR therapist, Consultant-in-training, which has been proven effective for people of all ages and experiences.
