In 2009, during her undergraduate studies, Jessica received a profound calling: to dedicate her professional life to helping individuals who had experienced various forms of trauma and abuse. This divine guidance ignited a deep and personal commitment to understanding the complexities of trauma and the intricate healing process. Jessica embarked on a rigorous journey of both academic and personal exploration, equipping herself with the knowledge and skills necessary to support survivors of abuse effectively.
By 2021, a new dimension of this calling unfolded as Jessica encountered numerous clients who had suffered profound emotional and psychological harm inflicted by their church leaders. This experience illuminated a critical gap in the broader understanding of mental health within faith communities. It became increasingly clear to Jessica that there was a pressing need for churches to become more informed about trauma and mental health, and to adopt practices that would foster healing and support for those affected.
Motivated by this revelation, Jessica launched her private practice in 2022 with a clear vision: to create a supportive environment for trauma survivors and to advocate for mental health awareness within faith-based settings. Her practice was founded on the principle of integrating trauma-informed care with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
Jessica’s long-term goal is to expand her practice into a group practice, where a team of dedicated professionals can collaboratively work towards educating and training other counselors and church leaders. This vision encompasses a broader mission: to empower churches and community organizations with the tools and knowledge needed to support mental health and trauma recovery effectively.
